In this moment we are going to talk about ‘home’. Home
feels, to most people, like a safe place, a place where you can be yourself,
feel comfortable and calm. It is a place where everything feels ‘right’. Home is
comfort to you.
At an indefinable time in your understanding of history,
there was such a place for all beings. Home. It was the safest place where
there was nothing but comfort, joy, acceptance. It was like a long, warm, never-ending
embrace. This place, this home, was and is a place of all things. You could
call it the universe - the entirety of all that is. While being at home in this
place - as in your own place of ‘home’ now - it was and is comfortable. Yet sometimes
you have a yearning to get out and have a different experience.
So, back in those far mists of time, the comfort of home
seemed limited and the energy that is all of you, decided to explore existence
away from home, or out of the comfort zone. But you went knowing there was
always a way to get back. It was born as a desire to be ‘home’ and the signpost
pointing the way was/is none other than the ego or the ‘negative’ non-comfortable
experience.
The negative experience shows you that you are on the wrong
path to finding your way home. It guides you by its uncomfortableness. It shows
you what is wrong in order that you remember what is right. Ego or negativity
is seen as the devil, literally, in this human world. It is shunned. It is not
wanted. It is shut out. But it is the only real tool to finding your way back.
Without it, without the experience of not feeling comfort, of not feeling at
home, you would not find home again - you would not know what it looks or feels
like. Non comfort is obvious, and so in that moment of non-comfort you have a
simultaneous knowing of comfort. You must keep bumping into the walls, travelling
the wrong paths, in order to understand completely how the right one feels.
So, as best you can, embrace the negative, the ego, the
wrongness. Thank it for being there, for showing you the way home. We are all
on our way home yet while we fight against the negative, we are not seeing the
true path. Be thankful for the guidance. Where there is sun, there is always a
shadow. Let the shadow show you clearly from which direction shines the sun.
